Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a positive track record working within the public sector with experience working with various stakeholder groups and will possess relevant post-secondary educational credentials or a combination of training and experience.
- Candidates will have successful CAO or senior management experience in a public sector organization.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, building teams, labour relations, implementing development plans and understanding and assessing infrastructure requirements is desired.
- Experience in working within a union environment.
- Excellent leadership and management abilities, a strong customer service orientation, solid communication skills, and efficient financial management capabilities.
- Possess strong motivational and public relation skills with the ability to promote and facilitate Council's vision of a progressive community through programs, projects and activities.
- We are looking for a person with a strong sense of community, one who can demonstrate a history of their involvement and will leverage those assets to achieve social and economic advantages for the town.
- The candidate should enjoy the challenge of utilizing all available resources to achieve the goals and objectives of the community and Council. They should have experience in living in a small rural community and be familiar with the economic challenges facing those of us who choose to make the North our home.
