Qualifications:
- The successful applicant will hold a Journeyman Certificate; with inter-provincial standard, and a red seal certificate. In order to facilitate the completion of the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate and a Motor Vehicle Inspection Mechanic Licence is required.
- Individuals with underground experience, welding & fabricating, and computer skills - MS Office inc.: Word, Excel, Outlook would also be an asset.
- Hold a valid class 3 operator's licence with air endorsement and a clean driver abstract.
- PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING UPON INITIAL HIRE
- Reporting to the Site Services Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic will conduct a wide range of inspection and maintenance designed to service, repair, and maintain light and heavy duty equipment.
- The successful applicant will work in conjunction with other trades and shop personnel to safely service and repair necessary equipment on an on going basis.
- Diagnose and repair heavy duty and automotive equipment.
- Perform regular equipment maintenance; make adjustments related to mechanical and computer electronic controls, engines, transmissions, hydraulic and brake systems.
- Thoroughly and accurately complete daily maintenance records of assigned work.
- Exercise considerable judgement and actions in the performance of work.
- Perform other shop related tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work with other employees in a friendly and respectful manner.
