Title: Recreation & Parks Flower Planter

Wage: $ 15.00/Hour
Hours: 40 hrs per week x 14 weeks
Qualifications:
- Some general knowledge of bedding plants and their needs
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Valid class 5 Yukon driver's license
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, honest and enthusiastic
- Willingness to obtain RCMP Criminal Record Check
- Must currently hold or be willing to obtain Basic First Aid/CPR
- Recreation/parks experience would be an asset.
- Plant flowers, shrubs and trees in the following areas; Wye Lake Park~ the "Welcome to Watson Lake” beds at each end of town, hanging baskets throughout town, ditch boxes and the NLC beds
- General grounds keeping such as raking, weeding, watering, pest and disease control, fertilizing and dead head control
- Condition and prepare soil for planting i.e.: PH readings, turning soil with a rotor tiller
- Responsible for preparing a planting system in order to choose flowers and consider plant characteristics for the best planting area, design the beds and arrange flower groupings
