Hours: 35/40 hrs. weekly/flexi hours
** Second Stage Programme
Nawugida Pathways is second stage housing for women with or without children who are leaving abusive situations. Nawudiga Pathways owns and operates four safe housing units in Watson Lake, Yukon, that are directly attached to and on the same property as Help and Hope for Families Society Shelter. Both programmes are run independently of each other. Nawugida Pathways mandate includes safe housing while women and their children (when applicable) engage in an ongoing support programme that enhances personal safety and self-esteem. It is envisaged that self-defining goals lead to healing with a focus on an eventual return to the community strengthened by available resources and new experiences needed to live free from violence.
Qualifications:
- Must be cognizant of the issues, concerns, and struggles that are faced by abused women and their children. Must clearly understand the effect of intimate partner violence on women and children.
- Is expected to hold in strictest confidence all clients personal information unless specifically authorized to release such information. Must be prepared to sign an Oath of confidentiality.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and time management skills while having the ability to react confidently as well as competently to any given situation. Must have the ability to work independently within the concept of a team approach.
- Must provide a clear Criminal Records Check and pass a check of the Child Abuse Registry.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively orally, and in print, with co-workers, directors, volunteers, the public, and clients.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the job's scope and philosophy, and realize the necessity for self-assessment in terms of personal and professional growth.
- Minimum Grade 12 education/College
- Women's Studies, Child Development Studies, or other related field, an/or equivalent combinations of training and human services experience.
- Counseling experience an asset.

- Reporting directly to the Executive Director while providing:
- Property Management
- Administrative Management
- Programme support and development
- Advocacy and referral
- Child Care Intervention (as and if required)
- Community relations
- Other
